What permissions do I need to allow?

For Littlebird to function correctly, you must grant specific permissions. The app will prompt you to "Set up permissions" with the following explanations:

1. Bluetooth

  • Why it’s needed: Required to pair the Littlebird safety tracker to your phone.

  • Action: When the system popup appears ("Allow Littlebird to find Bluetooth devices?"), tap Allow.

2. Location

  • Why it’s needed: Location set to “Always” is used to enable data use for the in-app map, Saved Places, and location sharing within your Flock.

  • Action: When prompted, select Allow While Using App, and subsequently ensure it is updated to Always Allow if requested by the system.

3. Push Notifications

  • Why it’s needed: Stay up to date with Saved Place alerts, and receive important messages about activities in your Flock.

  • Action: When prompted, tap Allow.
